Dear Sisters,
Today the message is about boys.
We know that some of you (maybe those whose names start with E, Z and C š ) are probably laughing about those words, or wanting to stop listening now. Ā But really thereās some super important things that we want you all to know, because someday the time will come for you, too, to start looking for someone to spend eternity with. Ā Someone to love you like daddy loves mom.
First, to the āsome of youā that we mentioned above, GOOD! Ā Keep thinking that way for now. š
But second, all of you start today. Ā Dreams come true and you have to dream big. Ā Tonight when dad comes home from work or meetings, listen to the first words heāll say when he walks in the door: āWhereās my beautiful wife?ā Then watch as he searches the house to find her, just so he can kiss her to let her know he loves her. Ā Notice how heāll start helping with whatever he can right away, and how he makes every one of you feel so important as he asks about your day. Ā Pay attention to the way he really listens. Ā When he calls the family together tonight for scriptures and prayers, remember that. Ā Remember how he does it every day.
You can have someone like that, and you deserve someone like that. Ā Ā Donāt forget it, and donāt sell yourself short. Ā Ā Find in your mind that picture of the man youāll want to someday marry and keep yourself worthy for him so when you find him, it will be for eternity. Ā Make sure he loves God more than anything so together you can follow Him forever.
Be the kind of person you want to find, and we know youāll find him.
Donāt ever forget that you are a princess, a daughter of Heavenly Father, the King of Heaven and Earth. You deserve everything. And if you live as the princess you are, you will find the Prince Charming of your very own fairy tale. Ā The one who will honor you, respect you, and love you with all his heart. Forever.
Remember happily ever after starts today.
Love you forever, love you for always, forever and always our beautiful sisters youāll be!
Love,
Emily &Ā Anna
Way to go Emily & Anna, just out there studying and going for it. And, writing letters home to your sisters on what really matters! Steph’ says you’re the greatest preschool teachers too.
Thanks so much, Grandpa! We are having such a great time out here. Loving every minute of life but missing home too! The preschool has been SO much fun! We feel blessed to have such a fun, great job! Hope you are doing great!!!:)
Lots and lots of love,
Anna
Anna & Emily, glad to hear things are going well for you both! As there was no doubt in my mind that things would go any different!!! You are the most amazing young women I have had the chance to know!! When you started this letter to your sisters, about your Dad, the first words I actually said was, “where’s my beautiful wife!!!!!” Your dad walks in the door, takes, off his shoes, then says that every time I’m there, and then searches for his beautiful wife!!!! The love in your family is so beautiful, I love you all so much!!!!!! Keep up the good work!!! Love Debbie
What a precious letter. Loved your last one as well!
Thank you, Sister Christensen! š I’m humbled to hear you say that because I LOVE reading your blogs! You are such a beautiful example of womanhood and motherhood to me. Thank you for your good influence in the world. Hope you and your family are well!
Emily and Anna – You are so wise. What beautiful advice you have given your sisters, and what wonderful role models your parents have been. I am so glad you know this now, before you choose your life partners. I wish you could be out in the world telling all women how worthy they are of a person who will love and respect them. Yours is a beautiful message.
Much love – Amy
It is SO great to hear from you! We so cherish the letters you have written us throughout the years. I still look back on those happy times in New Hampshire with a heart bursting with gratitude for you as a teacher and much more. I feel so blessed to have learned from you- knowledge of the world and, more importantly, good values and character. I still look to you as a beautiful example of love. We miss you and hope all is well with you and your beautiful family (and those sweet grandchildren!)
