Our little two-year old granddaughter has surprised us before with her memorizations, but she stunned Great Grandma and Grandpa and all of us tonight on our zoom family Christmas talent show call with her memorization of the Christmas story, straight from the scriptures!
I have the dearest memories of my Grandpa Atwood reading the Christmas story each Christmas Eve (as found in Luke 2 and including a few other scriptures.) We’ve continued that tradition as a family.
At Mike’s parent’s Christmas party each year we participate in a little we grandchild’s Nativity. It brings us so much joy.
I remember my little ones adoring their Nativity sets- especially if they were playable. They’d spend hours with them during the Christmas season.
But our little granddaughter took it to a whole new level this year. As she “played” the Nativity story over and over again, her Mom had started reciting little parts of the story she knew by heart. This little one was soon saying them by heart and asking for more… “Mom! What about the Shepard’s? Mom started reading verses straight from the Holy Bible. Our granddaughter learned them all, and asked for more. “Mom, what about the wise men?” So Momma taught her those scriptures too.
And here are the results….
the testimony of a two year old that God lives, He sent His Son to save us. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Merry Christmas!! Celebrate Christ!
Love, the Hoffman Family
