An incredible day full of so much love and joy!! Our twin daughters, Emily and Anna, were able to come experience the holy temple, house of the Lord, for the first time, before leaving on their missions in a few months.

After today, I feel the most incredible days of life as a parent for me so far have been when my children were born, their baptism days, and when our children come to the temple for themselves (Isaac, Emily, and Anna now). These are days of the heart and heaven; experiences that never diminish with time.
As Emily and Anna say with huge smiles and full hearts, “there are no words to describe”. It was one of the most priceless, precious days of my existence.
I’m so grateful for the blessings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and that we get to experience a little bit of Heaven on earth through the temple.
Congratulations! ! How wonderful! !
Thank you for rejoicing with us Jocelyn!
I am not LDS, but once I got into a show called “Big Love” about a fundamentalist LDS family. In one episode, the character Barb goes to the temple to receive her endowments. Some LDS were upset it was re-enacted. Some were happy it was shown with respect. I personally thought it was a beautiful ceremony and played it over and over. If you go to youtube it’s under “Big Love Temple Scene”.
Dear Danielle, the temple ceremonies, covenants, and ordinances are indeed the most beautiful thing on earth. They are very sacred to us and so we do not show them on TV or even speak in detail about them in conversation. What I can say is that the spiritual gifts one receives in the holy, dedicated house of the Lord are worth any sacrifice it would take to receive them. We go to the temple first for ourselves, to receive our own endowment, and then for our ancestors that have gone before us and not had the opportunity to have these ordinances performed for them in mortality. (1 Corinthians 15:29) It is the work of eternity. I sincerely hope you get to go one day. Your Friend, CaMarie
CaMarie, you have such a great way of writing and telling things, I absolutely enjoy your blog…..As long as you are around I am sure your Grandma Atwood will never really be gone, between you and your Mom….you are both so much like her in blows my mind…what little I have….and if I know anything it is that you have had wonderful parents and grandparents to help you become the women you are……love you and your family……
Do say hello to the missionaries in California and Oregon…..they will be great with the great teaching they had at home from a loving mother and father……
Oh Judy, you make me cry more tears! Thank you for such an awesomely kind thing to say. I love Grandma soo much and I love you too!! I felt you filled in for Grandma the other night when you facebooked me past midnight – it had been a VERY hard evening with my babies and I felt the comfort Grandma would give me as you messaged.
