More on travel and babies soon but just had to share our Clara sharing about her chickens…
Who Knew? Chickens are the BEST!
When Mike suggested we have chickens at our small barn a few years ago I thought, “gross”.
Then he bought 6 little chicks. Awwww, they were SO CUTE!
The kids and their friends had the greatest time bonding with their chicks by name and cuddling them daily.
The first batch were so tame our 1 yr old Clara would catch them constantly. Barnyard FUN!
Now I am amazed that our chickens even look downright picturesque as they peck away bugs around our barn!
Mike can’t wait to use them to keep the bugs away from the brand new orchard trees we planted last fall.
Best part of a chicken? They are the lowest maintenance animal, ok, well, bird, and the MOST PRODUCTIVE! They lay an egg EVERY DAY! How COOL is THAT?
No more eggs from the store, now we enjoy farm fresh, free-range, organic chicken eggs daily! I can’t help but ‘CHEEP’ about that!
So HURRAY for nature’s miracles! Look around and notice some of those small, but awesome miracles of life in your world today!
And while you’re thinkin’ here’s a view of Clara catching chickens! Enjoy!
LOVE,
The Hoffmans
Love you guys! So fun to read this and watch your videos! Makes me smile! 🙂
So glad to share smiles Naomi! 🙂 in the end there’s lots to smile about, yes? Would love to hear what made you smile today! CaMarie and Crew
Our family had chickens back in CA & we loved them. We gave our ladies to another family in our ward when we moved to SLC UT. Now oddly the same day I was introduced to your family my hubby was in the backyard building a new chicken coop. He finished today!!! YAY!!! Fresh, free range, organic eggs again in a few months. Plus less bugs on our lot.
Sarah! That’s wonderful! Lol! What a great coincidence- I feel I have a new friend! Congratulations on moving to SLC and to already having your chicken coop up and ready! For some reason chicken eggs just really remind me of the wonder of life! 🙂 enjoy! And thx for tuning in! Love, CaMarie and Crew
P.s. we would love a picture of the coop! C
Hmmm…. I have been thinking chickens here at Kingsford Korner…. But I want ready made Easter Eggs everyday…. And Gus might just want chicken dinner everyday…. Could Clara give me chicken lessons…. and a GOAT…never mow weeds again!
LOL! sounds GREAT Lanis! Mike and I got a huge smile picturing you and happy farm at Kingsford Korner! Clara will come catch some chickens for you! LOVE MUCH, C&Crew
Hi! I’m a friend of Stphanie Kemp’s here in Boise. I’ve loved meeting your family via blog and youtube. We have chickens too, and I love them. Ours do not let us hold them. We definately need lessons from Clara. What an adorable video!
next time you get a batch of chicks, we buy from the farmstore for a dollar each, keep them in the garage or nearby the house so the kids can smother them with love! After that they don’t run as fast in fear, used to Clara from the get go! lol! Good luck catchin’ chickens! And soo glad to meet you online! 😉
This one is my favorite among all my other favorites, Camarie! So fun to see the girls on the farm! My friend who replied above has ALMOST convinced me of how productive chickens can be. Almost. Then, I wimped out! But that video was adorable!
awesome! I think you’d better cave like me Steph and get some chickens for those boys to chase! The eggs are SO WORTH IT! lol!
