Our daughter, Anna, who is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, posted this yesterday. It’s so along my own thoughts for the New Year that I wanted to share her words here:
“IT’S A BRAND NEW YEAR! And because of Jesus Christ, today can be a brand new start. Everyone makes mistakes, but through His power, all those things we wish we could take back can be erased, washed away, gone. Regret can become relief, guilt can become joy, heartache can become happiness. I have experienced this in my life, and I KNOW that His power is real. It is for everyone. No matter what you’ve done or how far you have fallen He will, like he did to this woman who everyone else condemned, reach out to you in perfect love and tell you “Neither do I condemn thee. Go, and sin no more.”

I happened across your YouTube videos about a week ago. It was your sweet baby twin girls helping with the laundry that caught my eye and I instantly fell in love! How cute your girls were being, soooo adorable and so inquisitive as you played with them! I couldn’t help but laugh at their sweet innocence and I couldn’t help but watch them again and again! And then I discovered there were more videos to watch and an entire beautiful family of 9 girls and 1 boy! Needless to say, I once again fell in love but this time with the entire group of you! You have been so blessed with such a beautiful family!
As I watched the videos and then read your blogs, I could see the beauty that holds your family together is your faith, and the Shining Star being Jesus Christ. How great is that! I, too, am a believer in our Savior, so we have that in common. I don’t belong to your church, but I think that’s okay. I am, however, am a Roman Catholic, who loves my church as much as you love yours. One of my favorite scriptures says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things seen” (Hebrews 11 :1).
Your blog, your videos are a testimony to that scripture and it’s beautiful that you are right there standing up for what is right and for what is true. You have reached this Californian living in beautiful San Diego and I have no doubt you have, and will, reach many, many more, both those with faith and those without it. Dear Jane, THANK YOU so very much for your kindness and encouragement. We feel we’ve found a new friend! It is wonderful to hear of your faith and also your favorite scripture (which is also one of our favorites! Long ago, and again periodically, we followed the format for Hebrews 11 and wrote our own, listing what has happened because of faith in our family’s life.
