Wow! Isaac graduated then we were all off on an airplane to the Hoffman family reunion! It was WONDERFUL!! A breath of fresh, Rocky Mountain air!!
With 8 children of their own, Grandpa and Grandma Hoffman now have 45 grand kids as their own! (Well, one of those 45 is on the way! 3 of the 45 just arrived this year!)
How do they handle family reunions?? Following birth order each child (& their families) takes their year planning the family reunion and the Christmas party.
In the last few years we have enjoyed Hoffman family Olympics, a family pioneer trek at Martins’s Cove (otherwise known as Devil’s gate), boating at Jordenelle reservoir, and on and on! This year Mike’s brother James and his family hosted the event right out of their home. We rode ATVs, played card games, volleyball, bocci ball, croquet, delicious dinners (each family assigned a meal), an evening of poetry- each family presented one of great grandpas poems in their own creative way, and last but not least hiking to Stewart falls on Mt Timpanogos and, best part, zip lining for over a mile down Provo Canyon. and yes, Grandpa and Grandpa at age 76 & 71 didn’t even bat an eyelash at flying down the zipline!!

Now THAT is Family FUN!!! It was a such a refreshing, wonderful time together!!
The kids and I were reminiscing all the wonderful reunions we’ve enjoyed so much on each side of our families! My family has done weeks in Nauvoo, California, Newport, RI, and soo many more! Our favorite part is that everybody COMES and we get to spend time TOGETHER!- laughing, relaxing, playing hard, and even working and serving together. The memories are wonderful!! The beSt part of any reunion- BEING TOGETHER!!!!!
With Isaac leaving soon we have put a lot of thought in together as a family as to what we will do to continue the joy of getting together as a family in the years to come.
Please tell us about your favorite reunion ideas and memories!!
Celebrate REUNIONS in your family today!!
Much Love,
The Hoffmans
Looks like your family reunion was a BLAST! Zip line – how cool! And those babies…a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e.!
Hee Hee Hee, THX Teri!! I KNOW how much you LOVE to have fun and I’m pretty sure you’d LOVE the zipline! I just heard there’s a great one at Camel Beach?! Close enough to try it out?? And THX for LOVING these Babies with us!! C
One side does casual reunions yearly, emphasis on every other year. The other side of the family has a reunion every 5 years. I personally like every 2 years, maybe 3. Every year for both sides would take a lot of hubby’s vacation days and a big expense as well for travelling.
Thank you SOO MUCH for sharing Amy! Like I said we are just starting to decide what the format will be for the future as the kids start to head from home. I’m totally taking your thoughts into consideration!
