I am SOO Happy to report that JUST when I was starting to weaken for wishing to SEE more results my Mom called and challenged all the sisters in the family to a 5 week Fitness challenge! YAY!! Finally saw some progress again this week! Hope you all “Keep on Keeping on!”
A great quote by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf in last months Ensign:
Another thing we need to remember when it comes to setting goals is this: We almost certainly will fail—at least in the short term. But rather than be discouraged, we can be empowered because this understanding removes the pressure of being perfect right now. It acknowledges from the beginning that at one time or another, we may fall short. Knowing this up front takes away much of the surprise and discouragement of failure.
When we approach our goals this way, failure doesn’t have to limit us. Remember, even if we fail to reach our ultimate, desired destination right away, we will have made progress along the road that will lead to it.
And that matters—it means a lot.
Even though we might fall short of our finish line, just continuing the journey will make us greater than we were before.
It will be sooo worth it when we know by the end of this year that we stayed true to our resolves at the beginning of the year and made a difference for good in our lives and the lives of our families!!
I’ve found I cannot even check in on my goal chart every single night – life is just bigger than humanly possible some days, but I’ve found that checking in when I can and being mindful of the ‘little things’ makes a BIG difference in a week or a month already!! Hurray! Progress Feels GREAT!
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.”
— Dale Carnegie (read more at brainy quote)
Well, I might have some snowballs thrown at me by those in the East but we really have been enjoying the icicles outside our windows these days!!
Our visions and goals for the future open new windows of opportunity to enjoy each day!! Keep at it!!! (Reminder to self included 😉 )
Love those happy little Sisters!! Keep going!
Yes, I thought I would be much happier when I lost 5 pounds. So, I went on the diet too, and gained 3 pounds, thus I was very unhappy. Then I lost 4 pounds, so I was one pound lower then where I started, so I’m sort of happy. But, when I loose 4 more, then I’ll be really happy. But, I think you are saying I should be really happy anyway?
