Celebrate LOVE!!! For as “Frozen” shows us, LOVE makes everything right!
My daughter and her good friend were born a day apart! I saw her mom in hospital as we both prepared for our babies’ arrivals! She always teases that we were racing and I won! Clara came 3 weeks early so that win was a surprise but a timely delivery for sure! We are both in awe that it has already been 6 years! How does time go so quickly and how do the little ones grow before our very eyes?
We celebrated the girls’ birthdays with their mutual friends, the little girls from their primary class—with LOVE!
Clara’s been such an incredible gift to me—she is her name, Light and Joy! To me she’s worth an all out ‘best celebration ever’! It was a sheer delight to treat these little girls to a “Frozen” wonderland!
My friend made fitting cupcakes with gorgeous edible snow, snowflakes and crystal candy ice on top! She also prepared a snowflake window cling craft that the girls really enjoyed! From Freeze dance with Frozen music to “Love Your Neighbor to break the spell” games (we even had so much fun we forgot our favorite Snowball game—adapted by us from Mingle, Mingle!) to ice chips on the table (oriental trading company has all—including the only not-sold-out Frozen cups I could find in 2 months! Lol! You can buy Frozen plates and napkins for hideous amounts of money off amazon but Frozen cups with complimentary ice blue and sparkling purple table cloth worked better,) to Olaf and Ana and Elsa balloons—the fun was really COOL!
But the all—time best part of the party for me was when we suddenly heard music from the foyer and then a real—life Ana voice singing with it! We’d been anticipating some magical guests—hoping somehow Ana and Elsa might make it to our party. Looking out the windows at the ice and snow laying across our front yard I suspected Elsa was close. And here came real—life Ana!! Wow! Hearing her Disney voice, seeing her bright, beautiful cape, braids with a perfect white streak, subtle freckles, the light in her face when she smiled with those big, bright eyes —seeing her genuine gestures of enthusiasm and excitement for life made us all know it must be the real thing! I could hardly believe it! We watched in awe as she danced and sang her way down the staircase—singing directly to the girls, “For the First Time in Forever!”. Then the music changed, it was Elsa’s turn. Seeing the little girls gasp, jump and squeal, “It’s Elsa! There’s Elsa!!” We were all aghast at gorgeous Elsa become real life before our eyes! She WAS Elsa! Her movements, every part of her! The princess sisters finished their song then met the girls with hugs and enthusiasm. They seemed in perfect character. Soon another song burst came on and they invited the little girls to sing and dance with them. “I love singing this song!!” one especially energetic little girl joyously called out! She jumped at the chance to sing with the princesses! They went wild on “Let it Go!” It was a lot of fun, I think even for the couple of shy girls that hung back but watched closely in admiration it was delightful. Ana and Elsa said hi, danced and sang with everyone! It was magic!
- Elsa and Ana make an appearance
- Elsa and Ana sing “Let it Go”
- Every kids in attendance knows all the words
- Dancing to the music of Frozen
- Even Olaf made a showing!
You may think I am pathetic but I tear up at the Disney parade! Love, light, music, everyone’s dreams coming true, and best of all, kindness to children, teaching them to believe! It makes me cry. Wasn’t I surprised when Ana and Elsa showed up at my own home! Seeing Ana sing down the staircase, hearing the little girls gasp at Elsa and seeing their eyes as the Disney princesses clasped their hands and gave them hugs. I was tearing up!! It’s wonderful to teach little ones not to fear, that in the end, love makes everything right!
And LOVE definitely made our Frozen party a delight! We wish you lots of magic and believing! Most of all celebrate LOVE!!
