What is more glorious to family than the amazing, miraculous gift of a baby?!
Truly marriage and family are formed to grow people. Family is the safe place one belongs with a mother and a father to love us, protect us, provide for us, and nurture us, it gives us the setting we need to reach our fullest potential, to thrive!
The amazing thing we’ve found is that family is the best growing ground for parents too! Jesus said, ‘It is more blessed to give than receive”. Nothing has shown us the meaning of that statement more than being the Mom and Dad. We get far more joy and reward out of the sacrifices we make for one another and our family than we ever could have imagined pre-parenting life!
With each and every baby Mike and I have grown. We’ve grown in stamina, strength, satisfaction, in wisdom (at least we hope so!), in patience (an absolutely unavoidable consequence if you want to keep on keeping on happily with children!), we’ve grown in heart, and best of all in LOVE!
With these latest treasured babies we’ve just welcomed to our home, I feel we’ve grown in faith. It was such a difficult pregnancy and we prayed for enough faith daily to see our babies here safely. We felt the prayers of friends and family and knew that indeed the Lord was, would be, and is always a rewarder of our faith.
I feel all parents grow by walking in faith even from the first decision to welcome a little one into their world! I don’t think there was ever a time Mike and I knew for sure how we would afford the next baby, how we would have enough time or means to add a whole new, completely-dependent-upon-us human being into our life!!
I believe every single parent wonders about that before welcoming a baby! But faith that it will all work out, time and means will be provided, even that Christ can make up for our shortcomings and weakness and if we follow Him, provide a way, even a ‘more excellent way‘ for our family, leads us to act! And we welcome precious spirits from heaven to our home!
Each baby we have welcomed has been the most priceless experience of our lives. We would not miss it for the world, definitely not for anything the world had to offer instead!
Please share with us your miracles from heaven, your growing as a parent, and celebrate the love that grows in families with us!
Love, the Hoffman Family

This statement from William Wordsworth resonates with me. No experience on earth compares to the arrival of a new baby in our family. It is a spiritual experience. It is a joy and it is work. We cannot learn certain lessons in any other way than having children. How grateful I am for my children.
Thank you for sharing your family life with others. You are an inspiration to us all.
