That wonderful, nostalgic time of year – homecoming! The crisp, autumn air, the football game, seeing old friends, enjoying new friends already found in a new year of school!
Emily and Anna’s senior year of high school has made this time especially poignant and worth CELEBRATING!!!
The girls were extremely honored to be nominated into the Homecoming court, a fun tradition at our school and many others. The hard part? Each of their friends could only cast one vote. Emily and Anna came home from voting day tired of being “compared” to one another. They had heard many friends say, “sorry, but I voted for your twin”. They would be glad for their twin but being compared was starting to pull them down.
We ended up having a great talk, a good reminder for all of us, about being GLAD to be YOU!!!! Never, ever, ever compare yourself to others! Be inspired by others, rejoice in the gifts of others, recognize all the greatness in others and even let them know it but always be GLAD, grateful, rejoice in being YOU!!!
If we each do that we are all QUEENS!!! Or Kings of course. We find ourselves ‘at home’ with ourselves, the best place to be for growing and becoming a better YOU everyday!!
Celebrate Homecoming!! And being YOU!!
